He was among the 1st surgeons internationally to develop the modern techniques of lamellar keratoplasty, introducing Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty (DALK) and is a world-recognized authority, and has recently developed new techniques and devices for Endothelial Keratoplasty (EK).
